Stephen Sondheim passed away at age 91 last week
On November 26th, 2021, the theatre world lost a titan in the industry. Composer and lyricist, Stephen Sondheim, passed away at age 91 in Roxbury, CT. Sondheim is responsible for some of the most iconic musicals of our time, including 'West Side Story', 'Gypsy', 'Into The Woods' and 'Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street'. For many, Sondheim was a source of inspiration. His music and lyrics transcended off the page and were etched into the minds of countless theatre lovers across the world. Currently, a revival of his show 'Company' is running on Broadway and the company has dedicated the entirety of the show's run to the memory of Stephen Sondheim.
